All-Canadian Week

This week had me thinking a lot about Citizenship. Coincidentally, our Summer theme is 'Digital Citizenship,' and, Thursday was Canada Day.
I spent my week at the HRCAP Annual General meeting - where the future of CAP was still shown to be unclear, Spencer House - which works daily to combat the digital divide that generally affects seniors, planning a Halifax-explore-like Orientation Event for us on July 16th - which yielded some very interesting ideas (and Price Quotes!), and working at the 'Hub' as usual - a small space in Halifax that is internationally connected to the rest of the World.
With all that has been going on in Canada with the G20 Summit, and Halifax more specifically, with the Queen's visit, moments capturing history, differing opinions, and patriotism have all managed to find their way online. This is our World now - we truly are 'Digital Citizens.'

And the point I think I am getting at, is that we all, working for CAP, are a part of it more-so than your average 'Summer Student.'
For each of the tasks we do each day, whether seemingly mundane, or awesomely exciting, we are working to make our Digital Community stronger. I think that's a pretty cool accomplishment to be able to come out of the Summer with.
